Kalamazoo County has named a new deputy county administrator for Internal Services.

According to Kalamazoo County Government, Terrell Cole will assume the role from interim Deputy County Administrator Patsy Moore on Tuesday, Jan. 17, after Kalamazoo County Administrator/Controller Kevin Catlin made the announcement recently.

“I look forward to joining the Kalamazoo County Government, dedicated to excellence in governance,” Cole said, according to Kalamazoo County Government. “I am generally excited, where I can bring the tools and experiences I have obtained over the years to advance the vision of the board and county leadership to provide services which promote health, equity and well-being in Kalamazoo County.”

Prior to coming to Kalamazoo County, Cole worked for the City of Cleveland utility department and city hall for 20 years, with his last role as the deputy commissioner for Water Pollution Control.

“The decision to appoint Mr. Cole to this role highlights our county-wide efforts to place greater priority on excellence in service delivery,” Catlin said, according to Kalamazoo County Government. “Mr. Cole’s experience will foster alignment in board and staff priorities and help strengthen the internal culture of county government. We are looking forward to implementing his diverse skill set to maximize deliberate strategies advocated by the board and leadership to continue elevating Kalamazoo County in the state of Michigan.”
