Kzoo Parks is inviting the entire Kalamazoo community to Spring Valley Park on Saturday, February 18 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for “A Flurry of Fun,” a free winter event for Kalamazoo families.

The event will offer winter staples like sledding and building snowmen, alongside a Winter Maze and friendly competitions like ice bowling, snowball tossing, and more. There will also be Kayak Racing where participants will navigate a kayak though the snowy terrain and a Winter Obstacle Course with five snow-based challenges.

Glow sticks and handwarmers will be available while supplies last and Coffee Rescue will have drinks available to purchase to help stay warm. There will be a handful of sleds at the event to use, but participants are encouraged to bring their own sleds if they can.

Flurry of Fun will be held near the playground and pavilion at the southeast end of the park. A map of activities and parking locations is available at www.kzooparks.org/flurry-of-fun. Participants should use the Mt. Olivet Rd gate by the water tower and follow the path past the soccer field to the event area. Colorful LED features and light towers will be set up to illuminate the event.

All of the planned events require snow, so the event will depend on winter weather. If conditions are not suitable, Flurry of Fun may be cancelled. An announcement will be made the week of the event based on forecasted weather.

This event is free, and although the activities are geared towards families with children, all community members are welcome. Bundle up with your family and friends and join us for a Flurry of Fun!
