Friday at the Flats & Movies in the Park:  The Iron Giant

Portage Parks & Recreation will host Friday at the Flats and the final Movies in the Park of the 2022 summer season this Friday, August 26.  Admission to both events is FREE and open to the public.

Friday at the Flats will run from 4:30 to 8:30 PM at the Celery Flats Pavilion (7335 Garden Lane) – rain or shine!  Enjoy an array of dinner and dessert options as well as live performances from local musicians.  Food vendors include Blue Plate Food Truck, Skinny Kenny’s BBQ, Eli’s Doces, Ibison Concessions, Theresa’s Kitchen, and Specialty Cheesecake and Dessert Company.  Orchestra Jammbo’laya, Kalamazoo Academy of Rock, and Jordan Hamilton will perform live music throughout the evening.

The final Movie in the Park returns to Celery Flats Historical Area following Friday at the Flats.  The featured movie, The Iron Giant begins at dusk (around 9 PM).  Special thanks to our sponsor Grabowski Orthodontics.  Bring a blanket or chair for lawn seating.  The movie will be canceled if inclement weather occurs.  Watch the city’s Facebook events page @CityofPortageMI for details and weather updates.  For more information, call Portage Parks & Recreation at (269) 329-4522.
