It is with great sadness that we share the news of former City Treasurer Jo Ann Velting’s passing.

Jo Ann served the city as Treasurer for 30+ years. Throughout her tenure she was involved in many great projects including serving on the Building Authority to create a new community building that now houses City Hall, contributing to the Perry Streetscape Project, the construction of Veterans Pavilion, and so much more.

Most notable, though, was her commitment to the residents of our community.  She was known to spend a little extra time when a resident needed a listening ear, and she would enlist her family to mow grass or shovel snow for neighbors in need of a little extra help.  She was a friendly face, quick with a joke, and an asset to the City.
