To:  All Businesses Utilizing the City of Owosso Water Supply

The City of Owosso will be starting the rehabilitation of the Standpipe located at Gute Hill on June 13, 2022. Following the complete rehabilitation of the Gute Hill Standpipe and its return to service the Water Tower located in the West Industrial Park likely beginning in August will also be rehabilitated.  The Gute Hill Standpipe will be drained beginning on June 9, 2022.  Our contractor will begin working on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 7am. The Contractor will be working from 7 AM to 7 PM every week on Monday through Saturdays.  We anticipate completion of both projects and the return to normal operating conditions by October 31, 2022.

During this rehabilitation of our two water storage tanks, there will not be the normal tank storage for fire reserve and there may be fluctuations in the pressure in your fire alarm system.  The water production at the plant provides sufficient water for all fire emergencies.

Please be aware that effective June 10th, fire pump tests should be delayed until after October 31st if possible. If there is a necessity to perform a Fire Pump test or Hydrant flow test, these should be planned for Monday through Friday by scheduling and notification as soon as possible with the staff at the Water Filtration Plant at 989-725-0560.

If you have any questions, contact Tom Wheeler, Public Works Superintendent at 989-725-0556 between the hours of 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday – Friday.
