Read and Ride Roundup Camp just wrapped up and it was a great week!

This program was started by Richland Elementary First Grade teacher Mrs. Koets in 2010. It takes a unique animal assisted therapeutic approach to increase reading skills for elementary students by focusing on remedial reading, comprehension, hand-eye coordination, and visual-spatial perception.

Therapeutic riding benefits our students in so many ways! It helps with their self esteem, improves coordination, encourages risk taking, and helps develop a love and respect for animals.

It was wonderful to see all of the growth in each student throughout the week.
