City of Kalamazoo issued the following announcement on Dec 21.

The Environmental Concerns Committee and community volunteers have added an additional collection day to the pilot EPS foam recycling program on New Year’s Day. Volunteers will be collecting EPS foam on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at Mayors’ Riverfront Park from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. This additional collection is meant to help community members recycle any EPS foam that was received with gifts or accumulated over the holiday season.

Volunteers will also be available at Mayors’ Riverfront Park for the scheduled collection on Saturday, January 29. Additional details are available in the View from the Curb, and Facebook users can RSVP online here.
