A recount that lasted 13 hours resulted in no change for the primary election, according to MLive.

The recounts for six August primary campaigns were requested by those who lost their races on election night. Kalamazoo County Clerk Tim Snow said the recounts yielded no change from the initial results.

Canvassers were present from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. While the vote tallies saw small changes, it wasn’t enough to affect the outcome of any of the races, including the highly anticipated race for the District 2 slot of the Board of Commissioners, which incumbent Democrat Zac Bauer won. He beat Democrat Monteze Morales by 25 votes on election night and again in the recount.

Morales took to Facebook to concede and said she had talked to Bauer since Election Day.

“Commissioner Bauer knows we will hold him accountable and shared he is ready to do the work!” Morales wrote, according to MLive.

Morales will also be busy in the upcoming season, as she was appointed to the Kalamazoo County Public Housing Commission at the Board of Commissioners’ meeting on Sept. 1.

Along with Morales, Republican Tom Wagner also requested a recount for Comstock Township Clerk after losing by 46 votes on election night and 44 votes in the recount.

Republican Marla Schwartz lost by four votes on election night and two votes in the recount in her campaign for Comstock Township Trustee.

When it comes to Oshtemo Township Trustee, Democrat Louis Williams lost by 146 votes on election night, but the recount numbers weren’t available immediately.

Republican Diana Langshaw lost by one vote for Ross Township Trustee in the initial vote and in the recount, while Republican Tamara Mitchell, a write-in candidate for Texas Township Clerk, lost by 72 votes on election night and in the recount.
