The City of Kalamazoo issued the following announcement on Oct. 19.
The Kalamazoo City Commission meeting originally scheduled for Monday, October 19 has been rescheduled for Monday, October 26 at 7 p.m.
Last week the State House and Senate passed SB1108, which allows virtual public meetings to continue through the end of the year. As of close of business on Friday, October 16, the Governor had not announced she had signed the bill, which is required before it takes effect. At that time, the decision was made to reschedule the October 19 meeting to ensure that the meeting would not be held in violation of the Open Meetings Act.Governor Whitmer has since announced that she has signed SB1108.
