City of Portage issued the following announcement.
The City of Portage will conduct an important phone system upgrade affecting all municipal buildings. On Wednesday, December 2 from 5:30 to 7 PM (after business hours), the
upgrade will result in brief system downtimes to all city department phone lines, except the Department of Public Safety. Department of Public Safety phone lines will be down on
Friday, December 4 beginning at noon for approximately 15 minutes. To finalize the system upgrade, all department phone lines will be down on Saturday, December 12 from 4
AM to 12 PM.
The phone system upgrade will not affect 9-1-1 services. To reach the Department of Public Safety for non-emergency matters during system downtimes, the public can dial 329-
4567.
