In September, the City of Kalamazoo and Kalamazoo County both adopted resolutions declaring gun violence a public health crisis in Kalamazoo. The City and County have each committed $1 million of Federal American Rescue Plan funding to ongoing community violence intervention. This funding is expected to be made available through grants to community groups committed to reducing gun violence in Kalamazoo.
