Snow & Ice Removal Notice

Johnston snow 1000

City of Davison issued the following announcement on Nov 1.

The City of Davison's Department of Public Works is responsible for maintaining 5.33 miles of major Streets, 13.24 miles of local streets, and 2.4 miles of State Highway. Maintenance consists of snow removal, road and curb repairs, leaf pickup and street sweeping within the city limits.

Now that winter is approaching fast, the City of Davison would like to remind all property owners and/or occupants of their responsibility in keeping the sidewalks clear of snow and ice during the winter season. It is important to understand that many of our residents, including students and elderly, use these sidewalks as their way to get around.

There is a City Ordinance (Section 1024.10) which requires that all snow and ice must be removed from public sidewalks adjacent to your property within a reasonable time (Usually 48 hours) after a snowfall or the formation of ice occurs.

If you have any questions, or are in need of obtaining a list of snow removal companies, please contact City Hall at 653-2191.
