Climax-Scotts Community Schools issued the following announcement on Dec 1.
Climax-Scotts Community Schools extends our condolences and support to the students, staff, and families of Oxford Community Schools in the wake of yesterday’s events.
We are heavy hearted over such a tremendous loss and our thoughts are with those dealing with this tragedy.
While it is unknown what prompted the incident, we do want to send our families and community members a reminder that there are ways to seek help if you are experiencing distress. All schools in the state of Michigan participate in the OK2Say Program: www.michigan.gov/OK2SAY. It is always available for those who need to reach out or want to confidentially report an issue. In addition, Climax-Scotts has school counselors available for students to speak with when needed.
For families looking to talk with their children about school violence, we have added some resources and information to our website to assist with this difficult topic.
The Panther Community sends its thoughts and prayers to the entire Oxford Community.
