Forward Anthony Collins is coming to the Kalamazoo Wings after the team traded for his rights in exchange forward Greg Betzold.

"Anthony Collins is one of the tougher guys in the league, but most importantly he's a team-first player," K-Wings head coach Nick Bootland said in a press release this week on the team's website. "His hockey IQ, mixed with natural grit, is exactly what this hockey team needs moving forward."

The K-Wings, an ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Columbus Blue Jackets, made the trade with the Norfolk Admirals, the release said.

Collins, 31, has played in 46 games with Admirals this season; putting up 3 goals, 7 assists, 10 points and 66 PIMs.

"Being in the league for almost 10 years, I know exactly what the Kalamazoo Wings organization brings to the table," Collins said in the release. "Its passion for hockey bleeds from that locker room and into the fanbase. It's a place that I'm proud to bring my family."

Collins, who is known for his leadership, acumen and physical play, previously played with the Kansas City Mavericks during the 2020-21 season.
