Public Hearing on Clean Water State Revolving Loan Fund Project Plan Set for May 4

The City of Kalamazoo will hold a public hearing on the proposed 2022 Clean Water State Revolving Loan Fund (CWSRF) Project Plan to receive comments from interested persons.  The plan includes improvements to sanitary sewers on Ransom Street from Westnedge to Walbridge and the replacement of pump and related equipment at the headworks of the Kalamazoo Water Reclamation Plant.

The hearing will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at the following location:

612 N. Park Street Kalamazoo, MI 49007

The CWSRF Program is administered by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy with the purpose of protecting and improving water quality.  The proposed project will address structural and capacity issues in the existing wastewater collection system and improve system operations by replacing existing infrastructure and equipment.

The estimated cost to users for the proposed project will be: $13,746,100

Impacts of the proposed project include construction-related road closures, detours, sidewalk closures, tree removal, and construction-related dust.  Appropriate countermeasures will be implemented to prevent soil erosion and sedimentation from job sites.

Copies of the plan detailing the proposed project will be available for inspection after April 1, 2022, at:
