Youth & Teens Invited to Share their Talents at Aug. 19 Lunchtime Live

Kzoo Parks and the Kalamazoo Civic will host a Youth & Teen Talent Show on Friday, August 19 during Kzoo Parks’ Lunchtime Live! event from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Bronson Park (200 S Rose St). 

Youth and teens ages 10 to 16 are invited to participate in the talent show with performances including but not limited to, singing, dancing, poetry, spoken word, instrumental music, skits, magic, comedy, martial arts, and juggling. The show is free to participate in and interested youth can register online through Thursday, August 4 at www.kzooparks.org/talentshow

The show will be hosted by Von Washington Jr., the Executive Director of Community Relations for the Kalamazoo Promise, and will feature up to 20 acts. Talent show judges will award first, second, and third place prizes.

Auditions will be held on Tuesday, July 26 and Thursday, July 28 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Kalamazoo Civic (426 South Park Street). Youth can still register after auditions by providing a video or description of their performance. Rehearsals will be held on Tuesday, August 9 and Thursday, August 11 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Bronson Park (200 S Rose St).

Attendees should remain cautious and follow CDC and local health official guidelines to protect themselves and the community from COVID-19.
