National Native American Heritage Day, which honors Indigenous peoples and their rich cultures, accomplishments, and contributions.
For our last post of Native American Heritage Month, we recognize Deb Haaland, the secretary of the United States Department of the Interior and the first Native American to hold a cabinet post.
The Department of the Interior is responsible for the management and conservation of most federal land along with natural resources, leading such agencies as the Bureau of Land Management, the United States Geological Survey, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and the National Park Service.
