Western Michigan University (WMU) is set to confer over 800 bachelor's degrees, more than 250 master's degrees, and over 60 doctoral degrees at its upcoming commencement ceremonies. These events will take place on Saturday, December 14, at Miller Auditorium in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Graduates from 36 countries, including the United States, will participate in one of two scheduled ceremonies. The first ceremony at 9 a.m. will include graduates from the College of Education and Human Development, Haworth College of Business, Merze Tate College, and College of Fine Arts. The second ceremony at noon will feature graduates from the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Health and Human Services, and College of Aviation.

President Edward Montgomery is slated to deliver a speech during the event. The ceremonies will also include vignettes highlighting graduate success stories and a special tribute to the graduates.

Attendance at Miller Auditorium requires a ticket for all guests regardless of age. Seating is on a general admission basis. This year introduces an additional option for viewing; tickets are needed to watch the ceremony on a large screen in Brown Hall's Extended Family and Friends Livestream Lounge. Graduates can reserve up to four tickets on a first-come-first-served basis by emailing Margot Allemand until Friday, December 13, at 5 p.m., specifying which ceremony their guests will attend.

For those unable to secure tickets or wishing to watch remotely, a livestream will be available online via the Commencement webpage where further information can also be found.

WMU traditionally holds formal graduation ceremonies following the fall and spring semesters as well as after the summer I session. Students may also complete their studies after the summer II session.
