Speaker Matt Hall expressed satisfaction with Michigan Governor Whitmer's recent acceptance of House Republicans' transparency measures. Hall stated, "It’s great to see Governor Whitmer embracing the ideas and leadership of House Republicans. For seven years, Lansing has failed to take meaningful action on government transparency, but today, we’re seeing real progress — progress that is happening because House Republicans took the lead."

Hall emphasized his role in fostering bipartisan efforts for transparency, saying, "With the right leader, me, focused on the right issues, you will see productive bipartisanship that delivers results on core priorities. My prediction is that Leader Brinks will soon see the light and join us in ushering in a new era of leadership that changes the culture of Lansing."

He elaborated on the efforts being led by House Republicans, noting, "House Republicans are driving the conversation on transparency measures, and under House Rules, we can advance this priority without needing the Senate’s agreement — if they want to pass a bill that hides special interest funding, we will not take it up. While their support would be welcome, we are committed to putting Michigan families first."

On infrastructure, Hall highlighted their approach, "Just as we’ve done with transparency, we’ve also led the charge on fixing our roads with a common-sense, no-tax-increase approach that works for Michigan families and taxpayers. It’s encouraging to see the governor recognizing the value of our proposals and working with us to get things done."

Speaker Hall looks forward to seeing Governor Whitmer's detailed plan for roads when she is ready to release it, indicating ongoing cooperation despite previous partisan divides.
