State Representative Matt Hall has announced reading and essay competitions in honor of March is Reading Month. The initiative encourages students from various grade levels to enhance their literacy and creative writing skills. Winners will be given the opportunity to serve as "Representative for a Day" at the state Capitol.
For students in grades 1 through 5, entries must include the number of pages read. Middle school students in grades 6 through 8 are invited to write essays about their favorite Michigan memory, limited to two pages. High school participants are tasked with writing about a Michigan hero who inspires them, with submissions to be between three and four pages.
