Kalamazoo County Commissioners approved a three-year extension of Administrator Tracie Moored’s contract in March.

The vote to give Moored another three years at the helm of Kalamazoo County government, which took place on Feb. 18, was unanimous. More than six months ago, the commissioners gave her a positive evaluation.

Board Chair Julie Rogers praised Moored’s commitment to the county.

“As boards change and evolve over time, the challenge will continue to be balancing the needs (and) wants of the board and community with the fiscal reality we are face with," Rogers said in a written evaluation of Moored, MLive.com reported.

Under Moored’s new contact, she will earn the same salary of $166,358.40 and be given a $600 monthly car allowance.

Moored joined Kalamazoo County government in 2008 and rose to her current position three years ago. The board at the time elected to have her fill the vacant seat.
