The residents of the City of Brighton did a great job

The residents of the City of Brighton did a great job in improving the quality of our curbside recycling last summer!

We were able to reduce the contamination rate from 16.33% to 10.53%, which is a reduction of 35.5%!  We have received another grant to continue to build on the progress that was made!

Quality Inspectors will be out again during the weeks of July 19 and July 20 to check recycling carts for the presence of the identified top issue contaminants. These quality inspectors will only look for the pre-determined top issue contaminants.  Please know that the inspector will not rummage through a resident’s recycle cart; they will simply lift the lid for a quick check to identify any contaminants.

As a reminder, below is what is and what is not acceptable in your curbside recycling cart.
