The C-S Drama Club students attended the Barn Theatre last night for the Backstage Xperience, with coaches, Jacqueline Longman and Traci Godbee, and parent chaperone, Steve Lynn. This program is funded through a grant that allows local schools to bring students to the theatre for a backstage tour. Afterwards, they eat dinner, then stay and see the current show playing.
Seven students were able to attend, and they really enjoyed the backstage tour. We learned about wig making, makeup, costumes, prop handling, stage/set design, and special effects. After dinner they taught the students a dance from the show we were going to see, "Cinderella". Students really enjoyed the play! After the feature performance, there was a Q&A session with the actors that played Prince Topher and Cinderella.
This was all the students first time seeing a play at a theatre like the Barn Theatre and was such a wonderful experience! They made C-S proud, asking great questions and participating in all the activities with enthusiasm. Excellent job, Drama Club!
The C-S Drama Club hopes this valuable program opportunity is available to participate again in the years to come.
