Western Michigan University announces fall career fair schedule for students

Western Michigan University will host a series of career fairs during fall 2025, aiming to connect students and recent graduates with employers across various industries.

The season begins on Thursday, September 18, with "Meet the Firms," an event for accounting, finance, business information systems, and analytics majors. Hosted by Beta Alpha Psi at the Fetzer Center, it offers networking opportunities with representatives from CPA firms, private companies, and government organizations. Networking is scheduled for Beta Alpha Psi students and alumni from 6 to 6:30 p.m., and opens to all WMU students and alumni from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

From September 18 through October 9, Career Fair Tours will be available. These tours provide guidance for students navigating career fairs and are scheduled during several events throughout the season.

On September 24, more than 150 companies are expected at the Fall Engineering Expo in Floyd Hall’s main lobby on Western’s Parkview Campus. This event is open to WMU students seeking co-op positions, internships, or full-time roles.

Career Fair Prep 2025 will take place on October 2 in Schneider Hall. The session will cover how to participate in virtual career fairs and address topics like job searching and personal branding.

Other industry-specific events include:

- DigitalWMU Digital Marketing and Advertising Career Fair on October 3 at the WMU Student Center.

- Sales, Marketing and Food Marketing Career Fair on October 6 at the Fetzer Center ballroom.

- Supply Chain Career Night on October 8 at the Fetzer Center.

- Business Career Day on October 9 at the Fetzer Center.

A networking event titled "Networking like a Bronco" is set for October 7 in Reed Fieldhouse. According to organizers: “Networking Like a Bronco is designed to connect students and employers to discuss company cultures, career pathways and available roles or to seek general career advice.”

Specialty job fairs later in October include one for computer science, cybersecurity, data analytics, and IT majors on October 23 at Floyd Hall. Another fair focusing on life sciences will be held on October 29 in Wood Hall’s second floor lobby for fields such as biomedical research, environmental science, laboratory work, pharmaceuticals, sustainable brewing industries.

In addition to these campus events each semester, staff from Career and Student Employment Services and the Zhang Career Center maintain ongoing discussions with employers about hiring needs. These conversations result in thousands of internship and job postings available through Handshake (https://wmich.joinhandshake.com/login), an online platform connecting students with employment opportunities.
